Reporting and notification of tobacco products

Report information on tobacco products

Manufacturers and importers of tobacco products marketed in Denmark must report or notify the following information to the Danish Business Authority. The reports/notifications must be submitted digitally via the common EU system, EU-CEG – Common Entry Gate.

Information on ingredients and emissions must be reported for all tobacco products.

For information on which details must be reported, please refer to Chapter 2 “Reporting information on tobacco products to the Danish Business Authority and the European Commission” in the Act on Tobacco Products, etc.

Report on the investigation of additives.

Manufacturers and importers are required to carry out comprehensive studies of additives listed on the Commission’s priority list. A report must be prepared and submitted to the Danish Business Authority and the Commission.

Annual reporting

Manufacturers and importers of tobacco products marketed in Denmark must, for the products they market, report information on the sales volume for the previous year to the Danish Business Authority no later than May 1 each year.
Please note that data for the current year must be reported as a supplement to any previously reported data. You must ensure that data reported in previous years remains visible.

Herbal smoking products must be reported to the Danish Business Authority

Manufacturers and importers marketing herbal smoking products must report information about the composition of the products to the Danish Business Authority.

New categories of tobacco products must be notified to the Danish Business Authority

New categories of tobacco products may only be marketed in this country if they are notified to the Danish Business Authority. Notification must be submitted by any manufacturer and importer wishing to market a new category of tobacco products. This must be done no later than six months before the desired marketing date.
